FIFA World Cup 2026 sparks Panini boom: More than twice as many listings on Ricardo as four years ago

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is in full swing, and so is the excitement surrounding Panini stickers. This trend is also reflected on the online marketplace Ricardo: since the official World Cup stickers went on sale on 7 May 2026, around 76,000 Panini listings have been posted on Ricardo. That is more than double the number recorded during the entire 2022 World Cup. To date, around 42,000 listings from the current Panini collection have been successfully sold or auctioned.

Switzerland has once again been swept up in Panini fever, according to a recent analysis by online marketplace Ricardo. A search for “Panini” on Ricardo currently returns around 25,000 active listings. From individual stickers and sealed boxes to complete national teams and fully completed albums, collectors can find everything they need.

With 980 stickers featuring 48 national teams, the official Panini collection for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is the largest ever produced. At approximately CHF 0.20 per sticker, completing an album costs several hundred Swiss francs. Ricardo has therefore become a popular virtual trading platform for collectors looking to find missing stickers and easily offer duplicates.

Most expensive listing priced at CHF 12,000

Since the launch of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Panini collection, around 76,000 Panini listings have been posted on Ricardo, representing an increase of 141% compared with the 2022 World Cup. Most of these are individual stickers, with prices starting at just CHF 0.10.

Collectors who prefer to skip the sticker hunt can also purchase fully completed albums on Ricardo. The most expensive Panini listing currently available is a complete collection of UEFA European Championship and FIFA World Cup albums from 1970 to 2008, offered at a Buy Now price of CHF 12,000. The item has not yet been sold. Another collector’s highlight is a complete set of FIFA World Cup Panini albums from 1974 to 2026, currently listed as an auction with a starting price of CHF 4,790.

Since the release of the 2026 World Cup stickers, more than 42,000 Panini listings have been successfully completed on Ricardo. Compared with the period from the launch of the 2022 World Cup Panini collection until the end of that tournament, this represents an increase of around 71%. Swiss Panini fans are therefore more enthusiastic than ever about collecting and trading, increasingly moving their exchanges from the school playground to online platforms such as Ricardo.
