SMG Real Estate acquires Swiss business of immoverkauf24

With the acquisition of the Swiss business of the online platform immoverkauf24, SMG Real Estate is specifically strengthening its digital mandate acquisition activities. The acquisition expands SMG Real Estate’s existing portfolio with the important element of acquiring properties for sale, thereby providing additional support to real estate professionals in marketing more properties in less time. In a market where living space is in high demand but supply is scarce, immoverkauf24 opens up digital opportunities for estate agents to make their business even more efficient and successful.

Living space is a scarce commodity in Switzerland, and this is especially true for owner-occupied homes for sale. For real estate agents, this means that acquiring new clients is more important than ever. However, the competition for these leads is intense, often time-consuming, and involves high marketing costs. This is where SMG Real Estate comes in: The company, which already operates three of Switzerland’s best-known real estate platforms – ImmoScout24, Homegate, and Flatfox – is acquiring the portal www.immoverkauf24.ch from immoverkauf24 in Germany through an asset deal. The acquisition includes only the Swiss portal itself; employees will not be transferred or integrated. With this acquisition, SMG Real Estate is strategically expanding its services in the area of client acquisition, i.e., inquiries from sellers. These are homeowners who have been vetted by phone and are planning to sell their property in the near future.

“With immoverkauf24, we are adding another piece to our existing platform portfolio,” says Martin Waeber, Managing Director of SMG Real Estate. “The platform fits seamlessly into our strategy of providing estate agents with the best digital tools throughout the entire marketing process – from acquiring new sales mandates to successful completion,” Waeber continues.

Cinja Barck, Managing Director of immoverkauf24, explains: “The Swiss business of immoverkauf24 is being transferred to SMG Real Estate – a company that is at home in the Swiss market and knows it extremely well. We will continue to operate immoverkauf24’s business in Germany and Austria as before.”

With this move, SMG Real Estate strengthens the business foundation of real estate agents in Switzerland and creates new opportunities to win sales mandates and facilitate faster, successful property transactions – to the benefit not only of those searching for properties, but of all those involved in the Swiss property market.

immoverkauf24 and SMG have not disclosed the purchase price. However, the transaction is relatively small in relation to SMG Real Estate’s overall business volume.
